POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead Wildlife Repair Technician is a senior field leader responsible for advanced wildlife exclusion, complex structural repairs, and oversight of field technicians. This role combines expert-level handyman and construction skills with leadership, training, and quality control responsibilities. The Lead Technician sets the standard for workmanship, safety, and customer experience while mentoring wildlife technicians and supporting operational efficiency across job sites.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

The following objectives define success in this leadership role:

  • Lead complex wildlife exclusion and structural repair projects requiring advanced construction skills.
  • Perform high-level repairs on roofs, soffits, fascia, vents, crawl spaces, and structural entry points.
  • Diagnose challenging wildlife intrusion issues and design long-term exclusion solutions.
  • Serve as the on-site lead for multi-technician jobs, assigning tasks and directing workflow.
  • Train, mentor, and coach Wildlife Exclusion Technicians through hands-on field instruction.
  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards, safety protocols, and warranty requirements.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and approve completed exclusion and repair work.
  • Model and enforce OSHA, ladder safety, roof safety, and confined-space protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding complex repairs and project scope.
  • Support onboarding and skills development for new technicians.
  • Assist management with job planning, material selection, and project timelines.
  • Maintain advanced proficiency with hand and power tools and specialty construction equipment.
  • Report performance issues, training needs, and safety concerns to leadership.
  • Manage tools, materials, and company assets to prevent loss or damage.
  • Step in as a field trainer and acting supervisor as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • GED or High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on construction, handyman, roofing, framing, or structural repair experience required
  • Prior experience leading crews or mentoring technicians strongly preferred
  • Wildlife control, pest control, or exclusion experience preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated proficiency working on roofs and at heights
  • Current State Driver’s License with a clean driving record required
  • Relevant trade, pest, or wildlife certifications preferred; company support available

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role is physically demanding and requires frequent climbing, lifting, balancing, bending, kneeling, and working at heights. The Lead Wildlife Repair Technician must be comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and elevated structures, as well as in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.

The position involves lifting and carrying tools and materials up to 50 pounds, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and performing tasks while wearing OSHA-required PPE. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential requirements.
