What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Technician position at Network Mountain?
Senior Security Installation Technician
Boston Metro / Eastern Massachusetts (Southern NH acceptable)
We are supporting our client on hiring a senior field technician to own and execute physical security installation projects across the Boston and Eastern Massachusetts region. This role exists because our current technician is relocating, creating a gap on active projects. You will step into a high-trust position where the expectation is simple: take prints, parts, and a job scope, and run the install without hand-holding. If you’ve spent years in the field and prefer building systems over sitting in meetings, this is for you.
What You Get to Do
- Run access control, camera, and perimeter detection installation projects end-to-end in the field
- Pull cable, mount devices, terminate wiring, and install access hardware and cameras
- Work from prints and parts lists to plan and execute jobs without step-by-step oversight
- Troubleshoot install issues in real time and keep projects moving without escalation
- Coordinate your own daily workflow including materials, staging, and site logistics
- Use ConnectWise for job details, documentation, and check-in/out
- Work alongside another technician when needed, but operate independently when required
What You Have Already Done
- Independently executed security installation projects from prints without supervision
- Installed access control systems and cameras in commercial or infrastructure environments
- Worked with systems like Genetec Security Center and Mercury hardware (or comparable platforms)
- Diagnosed and solved field issues without relying on engineering or office support
- Managed your own job planning, materials, and day-to-day execution in the field
- Delivered consistent, reliable output without needing oversight or reminders
- Operated as a senior or “go-to” technician others rely on
Why You Would Do It
This is a pure field role with minimal noise. You are not being pulled into constant meetings, client calls, or programming work. The expectation is clear and respected: install systems well and keep projects moving. The work is steady and tied to long time infrastructure clients, and there is room to grow into crew leadership or project management if you want it. Compensation is 40/hr-44/hr.
