Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned System Administrator (SME) to lead the design, optimization, and security of enterprise IT systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in both Linux and Windows environments, as well as experience with cloud platforms, system performance tuning, and enterprise network infrastructure. The SME will also be responsible for guiding junior administrators, implementing best practices, and driving improvements aligned with organizational growth.

Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Active Top-Secret Clearance with the capability of obtaining SCI/CI Poly.
• This role is remote, but you need to be based out of one of the following states: AR, DC, FL, GA, OH, OK, ME, MD, NC, SC, TX, UT, VA, or WA.
• Occasional domestic travel.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business Systems, IT Management, or related field.
• 15 years of computer science experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience using enterprise network and system administration tools.
• Extensive understanding of operating systems, server hardware, networking protocols, security practices, and cloud technologies.
• Expert knowledge of Linux (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) including shell scripting, configuration management, and software packaging.
• Advanced proficiency in Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud platforms, with emphasis on security, resource optimization, and scalability.
• Deep expertise in network infrastructure, including routing, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
  Experience supporting Agile development environments using Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, and SAFe frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve complex system issues through detailed analysis and innovative problem-solving.
• Contribute to the design and deployment of system architectures including server configurations, network topologies, and data storage strategies.
• Monitor key system performance indicators, identify inefficiencies, and apply corrective actions to maintain optimal performance and uptime.
• Implement comprehensive security protocols, manage access controls, and stay abreast of evolving cyber threats.
• Forecast future system requirements and proactively plan infrastructure upgrades and scaling strategies.
• Provide mentorship and technical training to system administrators on emerging tools, techniques, and industry best practices.
