Job Description
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, validating, and maintaining data pipelines, transformations, and reconciliation frameworks supporting legacy and modernized enrollment systems. This role supports data migration, income matching, and reporting use cases by ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and traceability across Oracle-based systems and streaming pipelines. The position works closely with architects, application teams, and data stakeholders to deliver reliable, auditable data processing in regulated environments.

Job Description
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, validating, and maintaining data pipelines, transformations, and reconciliation frameworks supporting legacy and modernized enrollment systems. This role supports data migration, income matching, and reporting use cases by ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and traceability across Oracle-based systems and streaming pipelines. The position works closely with architects, application teams, and data stakeholders to deliver reliable, auditable data processing in regulated environments.

- U.S Citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- This position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.
- You can be based out of following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and materialized views.
- Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT data transformations and reconciliation frameworks.
- Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and data quality profiling in regulated or high-integrity environments.
- Experience running data workloads in Kubernetes and packaging pipelines with Docker.
- Familiarity with Redis for lookup caching or reference data access.
- Experience using GitHub for source control and artifact management and ArgoCD for deployment workflows.
- Experience monitoring data pipelines and system health using Grafana and/or Dynatrace.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams
Data Pipeline Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain batch and data pipelines using Oracle RDS. Implement SQL and PL/SQL-based ETL/ELT transformations to support data migration, reporting, and downstream consumption.
- Design and execute data validation, reconciliation, and rules-based comparison frameworks to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Validate income-matching data using Oracle SQL/PL-SQL and ETL logic, ensuring correct IRS and SSA data integration. Identify, analyze, and resolve data discrepancies ac
- Design and implement SQL/PL-SQL mapping, transformation, and reconciliation routines to migrate legacy datasets into the modernized system. Ensure completeness, accuracy, and traceability of migrated data through repeatable validation processes.
- Develop and optimize Oracle database objects including tables, views, stored procedures, and materialized views. Support performance tuning and query optimization for high-volume data processing workloads.
- Implement data quality profiling, validation rules, and reconciliation metrics. Support continuous data quality improvement initiatives and root-cause analysis of data issues.
- Manage source-controlled SQL, scripts, and pipeline artifacts using GitHub. Support GitOps-based deployment workflows using ArgoCD. Monitor pipeline execution, data quality, and system performance using Grafana and Dynatrace.
- Collaborate with application teams, data architects, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and validation rules. Produce clear documentation for data pipelines, transformations, validation logic, and reconciliation results.
