About Network Charter School

Located in downtown Eugene, NCS is a public charter school serving grades 7–12. We provide hands-on, relational, and inclusive learning through small class sizes and a collaborative model of education. We are looking for a dynamic Language Arts teacher who also has the flexibility to facilitate some Social Studies instruction and who also can support our yearbook and events class.

Position Overview

Network Charter School is seeking a student-centered, collaborative educator to join our team as a Language Arts & Social Studies Teacher. This position is responsible for designing and delivering integrated instruction that combines Language Arts and Social Studies content while supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of a diverse student population.

The successful candidate will:

  • Design and deliver engaging, integrated instruction in Language Arts and Social Studies.
  • Align curriculum, instruction, and assessment with Oregon state standards and learning objectives.
  • Utilize trauma-informed, equity-centered, and restorative practices to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Develop and implement meaningful, relevant, and engaging curriculum for students with diverse learning needs, backgrounds, and experiences.
  • Foster strong relationships with students and families while supporting student engagement, belonging, and academic success.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff, community partners, and support personnel to provide comprehensive educational experiences.
  • Contribute positively to a professional culture focused on growth, reflection, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the mission of Network Charter School by providing authentic, student-centered learning opportunities that prepare students for success beyond high school.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a valid Oregon Teaching License with a secondary endorsement; Language Arts and/or Social Studies endorsement preferred.
  • Have experience teaching Language Arts at the high school level, preferably in alternative, charter, or nontraditional educational settings.
  • Demonstrate the ability to teach integrated and interdisciplinary curriculum.
  • Possess strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to serving diverse and historically underserved student populations.
  • Embody the mission, vision, and values of Network Charter School through their professional practice and interactions with the school community.
