Lead Mechanical Engineer
Introduction
This position is for a Lead Mechanical Engineer based in Sterling, Virginia at an on-site secure facility. The individual will be responsible for overseeing mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware development from concept to deployment.
Responsibilities
- Full lifecycle mechanical & electro-mechanical hardware development
- Hands-on 3D CAD modeling, prototyping, lab testing, and hardware integration
- Creation of technical data packages including drawings, test plans, and qualification procedures
Requirements
- Active Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree with minimum 9 years of experience, Master's degree with 7 years, or 13 years of equivalent related experience
Core Technical Expertise
- Full lifecycle mechanical & electro-mechanical hardware development (concept to deployment)
- Hands-on 3D CAD modeling, prototyping, lab testing, and hardware integration
- Technical data packages (drawings, test plans, qualification procedures)
Preferred Proficiencies
- Creo CAD, ASME Y14.5 GD&T, precision mechanisms/actuators, electronics packaging/mechatronics, additive manufacturing, DFMA, and materials testing in aerospace/defense environments
Mandatory Requirements
- Active Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI Clearance
- Mechanical Design / Hardware Development experience
- CAD experience (preferably Creo)
- GD&T / ASME Y14.5 knowledge
- Ability to obtain a favorable polygraph

Salary : $102,000 - $189,000
