Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (Physics, Optics, etc.)
- 10 years of optical component fabrication experience desirable.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD software desirable.
- Proficiency with SPC desirable.
- Experience with optical alignment and bonding desirable.
Main Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for optical component fabrication processes.
- Create and improve documentation for the manufacturing of optical components.
- Provide hands-on engineering support and train technicians on fabrication process execution.
- Monitor and drive improvement of production fabrication processes and equipment using SPC.
- Support troubleshooting of existing fabrication processes.
- Review, disposition, and reduce non-conforming material.
- Assist in the transfer of optical fabrication process technologies from R&D to production.
- Identify, justify, and qualify new equipment into production.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
