Senior Software Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in New Orleans. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with product managers, architects, designers, and fellow engineers to design, develop, and maintain modern software applications. You will provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software applications using modern programming practices.
- Lead the technical design and implementation of new features and platform enhancements.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well documented code following established engineering standards.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
- Review code, provide technical guidance, and mentor software engineers.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs, backend services, and distributed systems.
- Build and support cloud based applications using Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Improve software performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Develop automated tests and support continuous integration and continuous deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement effective long term solutions.
- Participate in Agile planning, sprint reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Five or more years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or another modern programming language.
- Experience building scalable enterprise applications and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of object oriented programming, software design patterns, and clean coding principles.
- Experience developing cloud native applications using Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Git, automated testing frameworks, CI and CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container based deployment is desirable.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
