Details

The Accounting Economist will provide support to the Accounting Department by performing various clerical and analytical tasks to ensure financial efficiency and accuracy. The role involves invoice processing, account balancing, report preparation, and internal/external communication.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in accounting or finance (preferred).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and adherence to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely processing of invoices.
  • Balancing accounts through data analysis and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Handling manually entered invoices when needed.
  • Monitoring and analyzing market payments and costs.
  • Preparing financial reports, including Handelsstatistik and Bundesbank reports.
  • Providing support to clients during audits by supplying the required documentation.
  • Collaborating with IT and programming teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Managing emails from suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Automated resolution of issues received from various client-used platforms.
  • Effective communication with clients, transport companies, and internal departments via email and phone to obtain necessary documents and information.
