Location – Chesterfield, MO – hybrid remote
3 years accounting or finance experience
reporting experience - 10Q/Ks (footnote disclosure preparation, analysis of fluctuations), etc.
Intermediate experience with GAAP accounting
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and advanced Excel skills.
Preferred/Bonus
Any Investment Accounting (posting entries, running valuations, month-end close tasks, reconciliations)
Tax return experience is a plus
Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS)
CPA certification
Some insurance/reinsurance or financial services accounting experience
Experience with PFI/PAM investment accounting platform.
Experience with PowerQuery, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL/Query skills.
Experience with CoPilot or other automation tools.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for processing, system business functionality, analysis and reconciliation of investment accounting for various asset classes. Prepares financial results, analytics and various types of reports for internal and external stakeholders. Participates in the execution of effective internal controls and process improvements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Collaborates with manager to develop goals that align with department and company objectives and then manages to those expectations.
Participates in projects that improve the efficiency of processes, quality of reporting, and strengthen the controls over investment accounting.
Participates in the enhancement of multiple investment accounting systems/technology tools for distinct asset types, efficient data consolidation, analysis and visual presentation.
Works with and supports Investment Department personnel on various aspects of the Company's investments goals and operational needs.
Coordinates communication with external advisors to ensure clear understanding of investment risks and exchange of data for proper accounting and reporting.
Works with other functional areas in the Company to achieve efficient and effective accounting and reporting practices and procedures and responds to and requests from other functional areas on various inquiries.
Soft Skills
Knowledge of accounting/finance, including broad business practices, investment accounting, GAAP and/or statutory requirements.
Advanced level of investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives.
