We’re looking for a hands-on technician who takes pride in precision work, has solid knowledge of electronics and instrumentation, and enjoys calibrating, repairing, and troubleshooting advanced test equipment.
Position Overview
As a Calibration & Test Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the calibration, functional testing, and repair of biomedical and industrial electronic test instruments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically and electronically skilled, and familiar with instrumentation-level troubleshooting (not IT or networking).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration, testing, and maintenance of biomedical and industrial test instruments.
- Diagnose and repair component-level issues using schematics and test equipment.
- Verify instrument performance against engineering specifications and standards.
- Maintain calibration records and documentation for quality control and traceability.
- Support production and R&D teams with technical troubleshooting.
- Ensure all work complies with internal and regulatory calibration standards.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electronics Technology, Instrumentation, or Biomedical Engineering Technology (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- 2 years of experience working with electronic test equipment, calibration systems, or biomedical instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of analog/digital electronics and test procedures.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and calibration standards.
- Ability to read schematics and follow test documentation.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work both independently and in a small technical team.
Preferred Background
- Previous experience in biomedical test equipment calibration or service.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 calibration processes.
- Soldering and component-level troubleshooting experience.
