POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Accounting Clerk
FLSA: Non Exempt
REPORTS TO: Accounting Coordinator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Administrative Assistant Salary Schedule (261 days) with benefits According to the Classified Agreement.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Aptitude for numeric calculations and interpretations

Detail-oriented
-
Good organizational and communication skills
-
10-key by touch
-
Knowledge of financial software programs and strong Microsoft Excel

Accounting experience (preferred)

Familiarity with cash accounting
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Maintain accurate accounting records by ensuring that all expenditures and revenues are recorded in an accurate and timely manner.

Assist in the preparation of reports for local, state and federal agencies.

Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements for the Board of Education, and appropriate members of the district staff.

Perform monthly bank statement reconciliation.

Create, edit and manage district account codes in accordance with the Missouri Financial Accounting guidelines.

Manage bank transactions and ensure bank accounts are adequately secured through open communication with bank representatives.

Assist auditors in finding and interpreting district information.

Provide assistance to district staff on grant accounting and reconciliation.

Provide clerical and administrative support for the Accounting Coordinator.

Input purchase orders and ensure payment is sent in a timely manner for bond and lease payments
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend meetings and training as required.
