Interstate Towing is seeking an experienced and dependable Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our growing fleet of light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty towing and recovery vehicles. This is a full-time position for someone who takes pride in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and road-ready.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tow trucks, tractors, trailers, and support vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air system issues
- Service diesel and gasoline engines
- Perform brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain repairs
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure fleet compliance
- Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency repairs when needed
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Keep shop and work areas clean and safe
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience as a fleet, diesel, or heavy-duty mechanic preferred
- Experience working on heavy-duty trucks or towing equipment a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and inspections
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus)
Schedule:
- Full-time
- Day shift (with occasional on-call or overtime as needed)
