About the Job

The Membership Development Specialist is responsible for providing support to the planning and execution of NETA’s comprehensive accreditation process that accredits NETA member companies and certified their individual technicians, as well as the recruitment, engagement and advancement of member companies, engineers, and technicians through engaged contribution to all member association support initiatives and activities.

Under the guidance and direction of the Director of Membership, this collaborative role includes membership development and retention initiatives; support of association growth by vetting potential membership candidates and assisting with member application administration and processing; engagement in the annual peer review of member companies and the assessment of accreditation requirements, and the development and execution of strategies to recruit and retain member companies. This person will have regular interaction with the leaders of the association and industry.

About Us

NETA, the International Electrical Testing Association, is on a mission to lead the electrical power systems industry through education, standards development, accreditation of third-party testing companies, and certification of electrical testing technicians. Put simply, this means that we literally wrote the book(s) on how to navigate medium and high-voltage power systems safely and we work tirelessly to educate industry professionals on the importance of these documents. We take the practice of safety and equipment reliability seriously, so we also accredit testing companies that remain divested of competing interests and certify their technicians based on their unique skillsets and field experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Membership with development and execution of the strategic plan for membership development and retention.
  • Support association growth by vetting potential membership candidates.
  • Participate in NETA member company application administration and processing.
  • Support membership activities and strategies to aid in new member integration and overall member retention.
  • Support the development and production of internal member programs.
  • Support with the annual peer review of member companies with assessment of accreditation requirements.
  • Assist with the implementation of marketing strategies to foster growth.
  • Collaborate with other association programs to support strategic direction.
  • Review, update, and maintain program policies.
  • Create, update, and maintain member program standard operating procedures.
  • Research, propose, test, and implement updates and/or improvements to the processes involved in the member programs.
  • Coordinate with NETA's CRM Database resources to develop and implement member program enhancements in the Association Anywhere platform.
  • Assist with managing the organization’s CRM database to ensure it reflects accurate and current member information.
  • Prepare and analyze reports for evaluation and program recommendations.
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Assist with online forum updates.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in program management or administration, or a combination of education and/or work experience relevant to this role.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Positive attitude and earnest interest in providing excellent customer service to our members, partners, and fellow staff members.
  • Ability to work cooperatively, creatively, and flexibly with co-workers.
  • Able to establish meaningful professional rapport with Board Members, Committee Chairs, and Association Members to help further the Association’s initiatives.
  • Strong self-starter and proven team player in a high achievement-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, database administration, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Some travel required for NETA conferences or other meetings.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical requirements are consistent with working in an office environment – sitting for long periods of time, walking throughout the office, able to go up and down stairs without an elevator, able to lift and move 35 pounds, repetitive motions that may include wrists, hands, and fingers, and operating office equipment,
  • When attending PowerTest, or any other event on behalf of the association, standing and walking for an extended period will be required over multiple days, along with moving, packing and unpacking heavy boxes, and any other physical requirement to put on a large event like a conference.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
