Location: Mossville, IL
Duration: 24 months
Pay Range: $50 to $56 per hour on W2
The ePt Validation Planning Support Engineer will collaborate closely with the ePt system design team to identify and mitigate technical risks associated with specific ePt configurations. This role involves analyzing DFMEA outputs, prioritizing risks based on RPN (Risk Priority Number), and recommending optimal validation activities—virtual or physical—to balance cost and time. The engineer will contribute to various deliverables including system readiness summaries, validation status slides for NPI Gateway reviews, issue list management, defect forecasting, and proactive reliability curve development.
Education & Experience Requirements:- Experience: 8-10 years of real-world, hands-on experience. Academic projects do not count.
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
Master's degree holders must still meet the same experience criteria. - Internships: Accepted only if they involved hands-on hardware testing.
- Relevant Job Titles: Proactive Reliability Engineer, Validation Planner, Validation Planning Engineer.
- Technical Communication: Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into common language for cross-functional teams.
- Project Forecasting: Skilled in estimating timelines, instrumentation needs, and resource planning for validation activities.
- Collaborative Learning: Strong listening skills and openness to implementing suggestions from senior engineers.
- Hands-on test experience with fuel systems, engines, full machines, or vehicles.
- Experience in physical hardware testing (bench, lab, or full machine environments).
- Hands-on test experience with electric drivetrain systems (considered a strong plus).
- Software testing or HIL/SIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop / Software-in-the-Loop) experience is not relevant for this role.
- Analyze DFMEA data and prioritize risks based on RPN.
- Recommend and plan validation activities to mitigate risks.
- Support creation of validation status reports and NPI Gateway review materials.
- Manage issue lists and forecast defects per unit.
- Develop proactive reliability curves to predict system performance and durability.
