Title: Associate Specialist, Quality Control
Duration: 24 Months Contract
Location: Durham, NC 27712
Shift: Monday - Friday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST
Pay Rate: $31.41/hour on W2

Position Summary
Our Quality group ensures every single material inside our products is manufactured, processed, tested, packaged, stored, and distributed aligned with incredibly high standards of quality and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This role supports microbiological, chemical, and analytical assays while collaborating with teams across Production, Quality Assurance, Validation, Facilities, and external partners to ensure consistent quality for manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
General
• Conducts release testing in support of finished product
• Conducts microbiological testing; evaluates environmental microbiological samples
• Conducts environmental monitoring sampling including active air, surface, and water sampling
• Evaluates data, troubleshoots issues, identifies process improvements, writes reports, and participates in interdepartmental committees and projects
• Maintains lab materials and reagents

Business & Functional Expertise
• Completes assignments in alignment with department objectives
• Conducts In-Process and Release testing
• Performs routine Environmental Monitoring of processes

• Identifies and resolves technical and operational problems with colleagues and departmental guidance

• Communicates information clearly, asks questions, and checks for understanding

Accountability
• Accountable for own performance

Decision Making
• Makes decisions guided by policies and procedures on the shop floor
• Consults with next-level management on complex decisions or cross-functional impacts

Qualifications
• Associate's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field plus 1-2 years of relevant laboratory/pharmaceutical experience
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field

Required Experience and Skills
• Understanding and application of Good Laboratory Practices and cGMPs
• Aseptic technique
• Performance of environmental and water system monitoring
• Experience working in a team environment

Preferred Experience and Skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with LIMS, SAP, or other laboratory/production software

Working Relationships
• Reports to Quality Control Manager
• Interacts with employees within Quality Control and cross-functional departments
