Title: Laboratory Technician - Cell Culture / Vaccine Production
Duration: 12 months contract
Location: Millsboro, DE
Shift: Stretch of 4 - 10 hour days
Position Summary
• A Laboratory Technician is responsible for critical laboratory procedures in the production of veterinary products.
• Perform cell culture processes and aseptic techniques throughout the manufacturing cycle.
• Operate laboratory equipment and maintain compliance with GMP and SOP requirements.
• Support production activities including media preparation, inoculation, and vaccine filling.
Responsibilities
• Perform procedures including aseptic work, media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest, filling vaccines.
• Maintain accurate and reliable record keeping including charts, log books, and documentation.
• Communicate any unusual and/or non-routine occurrences when performing tasks.
• Clean work areas and prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and equipment.
• Perform equipment setup and operation.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Adhere to safety and company policies.
• Perform duties assigned by department supervision.
• Work with embryonic eggs for virus propagation.
• Handle hazardous materials including Isopropyl Alcohol, Hydrogen peroxide, Phenolic Disinfectants, and Oxidizers.
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelors degree or commensurate experience
Experience:
• Some lab based experience required
• GMP experience required
• Aseptic/clean room environment experience required
• Cell culturing experience very helpful
• Prior SAP experience
• Experience using pH meters, UniFuge, measuring components, and following SOPs
• Vaccine knowledge preferred
Skills:
• Aseptic behaviors and cleanroom practices
• Effective writing, oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to follow SOPs and maintain documentation accuracy
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements:
• Physical abilities test required prior to start
