Duties
- Perform routine cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely while cleaning and sanitizing surfaces to meet health and safety standards.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of trash receptacles, recycling bins, and disposal areas; ensure proper waste segregation and sanitation protocols are followed.
- Use custodial tools and equipment efficiently to perform tasks like buffing floors, window cleaning, and surface disinfecting.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or chemical mishandling incidents.
- Report maintenance issues or facility hazards promptly to ensure ongoing safety and functionality of the premises.
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning procedures.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and chemical handling safety procedures.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on sanitation, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact politely with staff and visitors when necessary.
- Prior experience with facilities maintenance or general custodial duties is preferred.
