About The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Shopify Technical Lead to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of Shopify solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients, including B2C, B2B, and POS implementations. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure high-quality Shopify experiences are delivered on time and within scope. As the technical expert, you will oversee the entire Shopify development lifecycle, providing technical guidance, solving complex problems, and ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of our clients’ eCommerce solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and participate in the design, development, and deployment of Shopify stores, apps, and custom functionalities for clients across B2C, B2B, and POS platforms.
• Work closely with clients to gather and understand business requirements, translating them into technical solutions while maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Establish and maintain coding best practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and security.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of developers, ensuring continuous improvement in technical skills and adherence to project goals.
• Create technical proofs-of-concept and vertical slices to validate architectural approaches.
• Consult and educate partners about the appropriate way to develop against and consume Shopify APIs.
• Develop custom Shopify themes and apps, integrating with third-party systems such as OMS, ERP, CRM, PIM, and marketing platforms to support complex eCommerce needs.
• Continuously optimize site performance, ensuring fast load times, mobile responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with Shopify platform updates, new tools, and emerging eCommerce technologies to recommend improvements and innovative solutions for clients.
  
  

What you bring to the table

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience working with Shopify in an agency or brand environment.
• Proven track record supporting B2C, B2B, and POS clients.
• A strong portfolio of Shopify stores developed, including custom apps, themes, and integrations.
• Proficiency in Shopify Plus, Shopify APIs, Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Strong understanding of eCommerce best practices, performance optimization, and SEO.
• Familiarity with third-party integrations (ERP, CRM, PIM, payment gateways, and analytics platforms).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Shopify certifications (e.g., Shopify Partners, Shopify Plus Expert).
• Exposure to headless commerce and frameworks such as Next.js, Astro, or Gatsby.
• Experience with cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Experience with headless development workflows (Netlify, Vercel).
• Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experience setting up and maintaining Node.js/NPM-based front-end build pipelines.
• Deep knowledge of front-end performance metrics, strategies, and ecosystem.
• Experience working with international clients and multi-currency, multi-language Shopify stores.
• Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to scope, estimate, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment and to align working hours to Eastern Time Zone for optimal client and team collaboration.

Working location

• Must work within the Eastern Time Zone
