As a Laboratory Scientist, you’ll conduct, analyze, and interpret lab experiments and research. This position will partner with project leaders and other scientists to define the analytical strategy in research and development (R&D) projects. Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, scientific principles, data interpretation, and provides solutions to problems with moderate complexity.

• Perform basic molecular biology procedures and assays. (ie. Nucleic Acid extractions, Nucleic Acid purification, PCR, cell-based assays
• Prepare samples for shipping to external laboratories
• Maintain accurate records/log of analytical requests and data
• Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Internal Control Plan (ICPs), Technical Instructions and related analytical procedures
• Evaluate new technologies & methods for potential implementation
• Communicate appropriately with the Nestlé Research Center, other groups within R&D, Regional Laboratories, and Operating Companies
• Establish and maintain good relationships with vendors and counterparts at other Nestlé operations by encouraging frequent informal communication

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 7 years’ experience in Biochemistry, Biology, or related discipline OR a Master's degree with 5 years of experience in Biochemistry, Biology, or related discipline
• 2 years of experience in the use of research techniques and standard molecular biology and cell culture techniques and methodology

Other

• Experience with LIMS software is preferred
• Experience with ELISA methods is preferred

The approximate pay range for this position is $79,000 to $103,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
