Duties
- Work with children in a one-on-one and group setting through meaningful, hands-on learning activities
- Prepare and design weekly lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate and differentiated for all skill levels and student interests
- Design and execute math, literacy, and science learning activities that allow students the opportunity to communicate orally and in writing
- Use daily mealtimes with the class as a method to incorporate learning and social skills
- Build schedules and routines for the students
- Strategically plan the curriculum to target areas related to child development such as social, motor, and language skills
- Proactively communicate expectations, criteria for assessment, student progress, and students’ strengths and opportunities to parents and students
- Promote and model a positive and respectful learning environment that focuses on positive redirection
- Establish trust and bond with the children and families in which you will serve
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom by following all center health and safety guidelines and rules
- Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and ethics
- High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 of the following:
- Associate's degree in early childhood education or related field
- CDA Certification
- 2 years of experience working in early childhood
- Health, Vision, and Dental insurance
