We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating high-quality beverages and providing exceptional service to our customers in a fast-paced café environment. Your role will involve not only crafting delicious coffee drinks but also ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.
Availability Requirements
- Opening shift availability required (5:45AM)
- Must be 18 years or older
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards
- Open the café and complete morning setup, including equipment startup and preparation for the day
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, counters, and seating areas
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and taking their orders accurately
- Handle cash transactions efficiently using the cash register while ensuring accurate cash handling practices
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; assist with restocking as needed
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all aspects of food handling and preparation
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
- Engage with customers to create a friendly atmosphere and encourage repeat business
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry or café environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Reliable punctuality and dependability for early morning shifts
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy setting
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of food safety practices is an advantage
- A passion for coffee and a willingness to learn specific drink building techniques is essential
