Technical Business Analyst – Financial Modeling & FP&A Support
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with strong financial modeling expertise who can bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. The analyst will work closely with FP&A teams in New York and Boston, gather requirements, and translate them into Epics and User Stories to be executed by data and reporting teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with FP&A business users to define requirements and translate them into Epics and User Stories for delivery teams.
- Build and validate financial models supporting Forecasting, Variance Analysis, and broader Financial Analysis.
- Identify quick wins in financial modeling to deliver early value.
- Facilitate data ingestion requirements across multiple systems (e.g., Actuarial, Investments) for analysis.
- Provide structured pseudo-code and user stories to data engineering and reporting teams for implementation in Power BI/Tableau.
- Communicate effectively with business stakeholders and ensure alignment across technical and non-technical teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience writing Epics and User Stories for data/reporting projects.
- Strong background in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with ability to interact with senior business stakeholders.
- Experience identifying and implementing quick wins in financial modeling.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) – not to build dashboards, but to define requirements for them.
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience in Life and Annuity insurance domains.
