This hands-on role spans a variety of skilled trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and masonry. This position also involves leading maintenance staff and assigning work orders to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Pay:
$24.00 – $32.00/hour, depending on experience
Voluntary on-call availability is eligible for additional shift differential pay
Schedule:
Day Shift – Monday through Friday
Voluntary On-call Rotation Available For Additional Compensation

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced installation, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and building systems
- Supervise and assign tasks to Maintenance Mechanics, Helpers, and Laborers
- Lead by example and provide training in proper use of tools and procedures
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and work orders to carry out assignments
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power equipment, and motor vehicles
- Prioritize and complete work orders for emergency, preventive, and general maintenance
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions, including confined spaces and inclement weather
- Three (3) years of full-time experience in skilled mechanical or construction trades OR
- Graduation from a technical high school program in a construction/mechanical trade plus two (2) years of relevant experience
- Must possess a valid Class D NYS Driver's License
- Proficient in multiple trades including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and groundskeeping
- Ability to supervise and train junior team members
- Skilled in reading blueprints and troubleshooting building systems
- Physically capable of lifting 50–110 lbs., standing for extended periods, and performing physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work outdoors and respond to after-hours issues as needed
- Experience in public housing or multi-unit facility maintenance
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance tracking systems
