What You’ll Do
- Program, edit, set up, and operate CNC machines for steel product manufacturing
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and design models
- Input dimensions and specifications into CNC software systems
- Select, install, and adjust tooling for each production run
- Optimize machine settings, feeds, speeds, and cutting paths for accuracy and efficiency
- Inspect parts throughout production and complete final quality checks
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, or production issues to minimize downtime
- Perform routine machine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and upkeep
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for productivity and quality
- Train or assist new team members on machine operation procedures as needed
- High school diploma or GED required
- 5 years of recent, consecutive experience programming, editing, setting up, and operating CNC machines on steel products
- Strong blueprint reading and dimensional interpretation skills
- Experience with CNC programming software and CAD/CAM platforms such as Fusion 360 preferred
- Ability to hold tight tolerances and produce high-quality parts consistently
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and quality
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
