What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Nesco Resource?
Our manufacturing client has a need for a Buyer for their Woodbury, NY office. This is a permanent onsite position.

Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison between engineering, suppliers, warehouse, and customers by responding to specification questions, setting up suppliers with accounting, coordinating international purchase orders and logistics, managing weights/dimensions, tariffs, pickup scheduling and tracking, overseeing customer shipments, processing invoicing, and partnering with the warehouse manager to ensure timely order fulfilllment.
- Obtain quotes from vendors and suppliers, negotiate pricing as appropriate for project needs, and organize quote information for pricing review.
- Source new vendors or suppliers and maintain existing relationships for reliability and growth.
- Coordinate with the Engineering and Technical team as needed for any questions related to project needs.
- Enter parts into the purchasing software system and provide updates on order status.
- Maintain purchase order documents in a shared filing system to ensure content is traceable, organized, and accessible.
- Ability to be proactive, notices issues, follows up, and takes tasks through completion.
- Report to a Procurement Manager and collaborate, as needed, with the Production, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams.
Requirements:
- 2 years experience in supply chain or operations in a regulated industry (mechanical/equipment, medical device, aerospace, and pharma)
- Bachelor's degree
- Data entry knowledge.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and communicative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with an ERP system is an advantage.
- Must be a US citizen or a Green Cardholder.
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
