Manufacturing Technician

Location: Ayer, MA
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $18.00 – $21.00/hour (based on experience)
Shift: 1st Shift
Training Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician to join a growing team in Ayer, MA. This role involves inspecting, cleaning, measuring, assembling, and packaging optical components throughout various stages of the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is reliable, quality-focused, and comfortable working in a team-based manufacturing environment.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with training provided and long-term potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle and process glass substrates according to written procedures

• Perform mechanical measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other manual or electronic gauges

• Conduct optical measurements using industry-standard and product-specific test equipment

• Accurately document inspection and measurement results

• Operate manufacturing equipment as required

• Perform light maintenance or calibration of equipment

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

• Stand and work on your feet for extended periods

• Work overtime when required, including weekdays and occasional Saturdays

• Complete other assigned duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to learn and use precision measurement tools

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Ability to follow written instructions and procedures

• Task- and results-oriented with the ability to multitask

• Comfortable working in a team environment

• Basic math and computer skills, including spreadsheets

• Ability to read and write in English

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

Preferred Experience

• Prior manufacturing or production experience

• Experience with optical components or photoresist processing is a plus

Additional Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States

• Pre-employment drug screen and background check required
