About the Role
I’m hiring for a Civil Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support a privately-owned civil engineering firm in Tulsa that delivers a wide range of site development, drainage, utility, and transportation-related projects. This role is ideal for an EIT who wants variety early in their career, strong mentorship, and exposure to how civil projects are actually planned, designed, and delivered.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers on projects that may include grading and drainage design, stormwater systems, roadway and access improvements, utilities, and municipal or commercial site work — gaining hands-on experience instead of being siloed into production-only tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Civil Design & Technical Support
Assist with civil engineering design for site development, drainage, utilities, and related infrastructure
Apply engineering principles to grading, stormwater, and infrastructure layouts
Support preparation of calculations, plans, and technical documentation
Project Exposure
Work on projects from early design through construction support
Participate in site visits and construction-related activities as needed
Build an understanding of project schedules, budgets, and client expectations
Growth & Development
Take on increasing responsibility as technical skills progress
Learn directly from senior engineers through active project involvement
Develop communication and coordination skills working with internal teams and clients
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
Engineer-in-Training (EIT), PE license, or actively pursuing certification
2–5 years of relevant civil engineering experience
Familiarity with civil design principles related to site, drainage, utilities, or transportation
Exposure to civil design and review tools such as Civil 3D (preferred), Bluebeam, and stormwater modeling software (e.g., StormCAD, PSCwim; HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS a plus)
Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a team
Why This Role Works for EITs
This team is known for developing engineers the right way — by giving them real responsibility, guidance, and exposure to multiple project types. Engineers are evaluated fairly, supported when workloads spike, and encouraged to grow at a sustainable pace instead of being pushed toward burnout.
