Summary
The Quality Manager oversees all Quality Control, Health & Safety, and Environmental compliance efforts. This includes ensuring all fabricated products meet applicable codes and standards (ASME, ISO 9001:2015, OSHA), leading internal and external audits, maintaining a safe work environment, mentoring QC and safety staff, and supporting process improvement initiatives. This role reports directly to the CEO and supports cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and customer representatives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Quality Health Safety Environmental (QHSE) leader and technical expert.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, OSHA, ISN, Veriforce, and internal standards.
- Lead and manage all safety training, certifications, and compliance efforts.
- Conduct and document inspections of fabricated products, ensuring adherence to ASME, ISO, customer specifications, and standards.
- Oversee and support all QC staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Perform and document various NDE inspections (RT, UT, MT, PT).
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead internal ISO audits and maintain documentation for ASME compliance.
- Track and investigate safety incidents; ensure timely corrective actions.
- Facilitate safety meetings and serve as a safety subject-matter expert.
- Coordinate 3rd-party and customer inspections as required.
- Review and interpret fabrication drawings, codes, and specifications.
- Interact effectively with purchasing, engineering, production, and customer representatives.
- Audit welding procedures and welder qualifications.
- Evaluate the efficiency and identify operational and compliance risks.
- Identify and implement improvements to processes, training, and documentation.
- Maintain and submit compliance documentation for OSHA, DOT, and environmental agencies.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, training, and incident reports.
- Ensure all weldments meet applicable codes, standards, engineering, and customer requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required
- Minimum 5 years' experience in quality inspection, safety management, or compliance roles in a fabrication/manufacturing environment.
- 5 years of Pressure Vessels experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe) and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong understanding of ASME Sec VIII, IX, and B31.3.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.
- OSHA knowledge and regulatory compliance expertise.
- Experience managing or mentoring teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, schematics, specifications, weld procedures, and QMS documents.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance tracking platforms such as ISN and Veriforce.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks with a high sense of urgency.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Education
- HS Diploma or GED
- Technical degree or certification from a two-year college OR Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Safety Management, or related field preferred.
