Job Description
NerdsToGo McKinney is looking for a part-time computer repair technician to assist with in-shop diagnostics and repairs.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting computers, helping customers solve technology problems, and working in a small team environment.
The technician will primarily work on desktop and laptop repairs, performance upgrades, malware removal, and general troubleshooting.
This is a part-time position (approximately 15–20 hours per week) with flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose hardware and software issues on PCs and laptops
- Perform SSD upgrades, RAM upgrades, and system tune-ups
- Remove viruses and malware
- Perform data transfers and cloning
- Install and configure operating systems and drivers
- Document work in our ticketing system
- Assist with general shop operations
Preferred Skills
- Experience troubleshooting Windows PCs
- Familiarity with hardware upgrades (SSD, RAM, etc.)
- Malware removal and system optimization
- Basic networking knowledge is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good communication with customers and team members
