    Job Title: District Registrar
    Reports To: Assistant Business Administrator
    Effective date: 01/05/2026 or sooner
    Salary Range: ($70,000- $80,000) commensurate with experience

    Position Summary: The successful applicant for this twelve-month position will ensure that all student registrations, transfers, and withdrawals are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with state and district regulations. The Registrar will maintain complete and confidential student records, verify residency in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:22, and support families through an equitable and accessible registration process. This position also works to strengthen communication between departments, monitor district-wide attendance data, and promote consistent procedures that uphold accountability, accuracy, and exceptional customer service across the district.

    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Spanish-speaking strongly preferred.
    • Prior experience in school registration and/or attendance.
    • Knowledge of New Jersey Department of Education regulations related to student residency, enrollment, and attendance.
    • Experience with student information systems, preferably PowerSchool, and Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Oversee and manage all aspects of student registration and enrollment process for the district
    • Verify residency and conduct investigations in compliance with N.J.A.C. 6A:22. when concerns arise
    • Reviews and monitors daily attendance records of all schools to determine possible attendance problems.
    • The ability to verbally communicate in a variety of circumstances is essential. Equally essential is the ability to compile reports, gather documentation, preserve evidence and testify effectively.
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities incidental to the office or as assigned.

    Technology Skills: Ability to be proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, Frontline Applications, and Student Information System.

    Evaluation of Performance: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the New Jersey Administrative Code and Board of Education policy.

    Terms of Employment: 12 Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement. See above for specific salary information.
