LAMINATING OPERATOR --
12 Hour Rotating Shift
7pm to 7am
$1,000 Retention Bonus paid after 90 days of employment!
Payrate: $17.00 $1 shift differential Attendance Bonus (as earned)
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
I) Proficient in Mathematics: to include calculations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using both fractions and decimals.
II) Measurement: Ability to read and use measurement tools.
III) Manual Dexterity: Ability to perform lifting, bending, and stretching movements while handling material and machine parts.
IV) Reading proficiency.
JOB SUMMARY:
I) Machine Setup:
A) Place long cardboard tube cores onto take-up shafts.
B) Push metal shaft into the center of raw material rolls.
C) Using roll lifting device; lift, guide, place, and engage the raw material roll onto the let-off stand of the laminating machine. (< or = 1,000 lbs.)
D) Feed and thread material through Laminator (using control panel), passing material over and through several nip rolls and chill rolls and through an oven tunnel.
E) Connect ends of material to cardboard tube core using adhesive.
F) Move drum of adhesive into position near the coating station and affix pump to control flow of adhesive into the coating pan.
G) Start laminator using controls on control panel, set tension and speed; adjusting thickness of coatings to material.
H) Observe proper running conditions of machine until material is coated and wound on cardboard core.
II) Production Activities:
A) Stop machinery.
B) Remove master roll of material from take-up shaft..
C) Label each roll.
D) Use hydraulic lifting mechanism, pick-up master roll of material and disconnect from Laminator.
E) Move master roll of material to material storage areas.
III) Handling Hazardous Waste/Materials:
A) Drain residue adhesive from pans and drums and dispense into proper disposal containers.
B) Transport hazardous waste from collection points to designated storage areas.
C) Ensure proper clean up of spills.
D) Ensure proper labeling of waste storage drums.
E) Ensure proper record keeping of all manifests, drum labels, and inspection of hazardous waste/materials.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Manufacturing setting, approximately 12’ X 24’ work area – clean, well lit area, moderate machine noise and venting system to control air quality.
TOOLS: Hydraulic lifts, air pump, wrench, tape measure, screwdriver, tape, scissors, Allen wrench pack, supported razor blades and other maintenance tools appropriate for machinery.
MATERIALS & PRODUCTS: Various film & foil laminate and fiberglass products.
(0 - 80 lbs. Shaft, 2 to 3 times per day (may request help or use hydraulic lift to help)
