SLITTER / TRAVERSE MACHINE OPERATOR ASSISTANT
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!! - WILL TRAIN!!!
2nd Shift Positions - 3pm - 11pm Monday - Friday
3rd Shift Positions - 11pm - 7am Sunday - Thursday
$1,000 Retention bonus paid after 90 days of employment!
Payrate: $18.00
PLUS - New Attn BONUS Earn an extra $1.00 per hour more!
We are looking for dependable, hardworking candidates with the ability to work independently to fill our Traverse / Slitter Operator positions. Must be able to read and follow training and instructions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Additional Responsibilities as Assigned)
Machine Setup:
- Loading supply of stock material per customer specifications
- Threading material through winder
- Set machine speed appropriate for cutting
Machine Operation:
- Insure print film is lined up correctly
- Insure tape is cutting at appropriate intervals
- Monitor and maintain appropriate machine speeds
- Insure appropriate amount of material is collected on take-up spools
- Maintain a clean work area around machine at all times
- Doff materials when appropriate spool size has been obtained on take-up winders
- Pack finished products in boxes or on pallets
- Complete production tickets to include machine hours, down time, and man hours
TOOLS:
Machine, scissors, razor blades, Allen wrenches, screwdriver, ruler.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
LIFTING: Must lift spools one at a time to just over waist level 3-5 times per shift.
CARRYING: Will carry spools or pad one at a time to various points no more than 8-10 feet distance.
BENDING: May bend or pick up spool or pad and place in box on floor (2% of time).
SITTING: May sit in a chair while machine is operative intermittently throughout the day (10-30% of time).
STANDING: Must stand to load machine, thread tape, make adjustments and check precision of work (50% of time)
WALKING: Will walk as needed during duration of shift.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2-5 years experience in predominantly manufacturing environment
- Basic math knowledge
Knowledge and Experience
- High level of accuracy in filling out paperwork: production documentation, nonconforming material documentation
- Ability to recognize quality issues
- Ability and willingness to adhere to operational discipline
- Follow site rules and site safety and security procedures
- Able to follow written procedures in great detail
- Able to trouble shoot machinery and production process
- Communicates well in English on production, quality and maintenance issues, verbally, or in writing.
- Capable of writing production related information clearly and tersely.
TOOLS:
Utility knife, tape dispenser, manual staple machine, forklift truck, hand truck, calculator, wrapping machine, computer.
