Job Summary

The MTA is seeking an experienced Network Security Architect / Analyst to support the design, analysis, and delivery of customer-facing technology applications and platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cloud platforms, software engineering, application architecture, technical documentation, and project execution.

Experience with AWS, Java/Kotlin, SQL, Docker, GIS/location-based systems, and railroad or transportation operations is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and support customer-facing applications and technology solutions.

  • Work with cloud-based platforms and services, including AWS EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, CloudWatch, RDS/PostgreSQL, and Docker.

  • Analyze technical requirements, system data, and application environments to identify solutions and improvements.

  • Develop and review technical documentation, including scopes of work, software requirements, technical specifications, and project estimates.

  • Support the planning and execution of technical projects from requirements through implementation.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, architects, business stakeholders, and other technical teams.

  • Evaluate application architecture, integrations, and technology platforms.

  • Work with databases and develop or analyze SQL queries.

  • Support applications developed using Java and Kotlin.

  • Work with frontend technologies such as React, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript when required.

  • Evaluate and support SaaS platforms and development tools.

  • Apply GIS and location-based technologies to support transportation and railroad applications.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret technical and operational data.

  • Work independently while effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of professional IT/technology experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required. Equivalent education and experience may be considered subject to approval.

  • Experience designing and supporting customer-facing applications.

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms and application environments.

  • Experience with AWS EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, CloudWatch, RDS/PostgreSQL, and Docker.

  • Experience with Java, Kotlin, and SQL.

  • Experience leading or managing technical projects.

  • Strong technical documentation skills, including preparation of:

    • Scopes of work

    • Software requirements

    • Technical specifications

    • Project estimates

  • Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
