What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center?
The Medical Assistant, under the direction of the Physician, cares for all age groups and assists with all aspects of custodial care, such as activities of daily living, monitoring of routine vital signs, maintaining a clean environment, errands, and other department routine activities. While performing routine tasks and procedures, the Medical Assistant gathers data and reports significant information about the patient to the Physician and confers with the Physician when necessary for direction and instructions. After a patient is seen, the Medical Assistant will clean the room for the next patient. The Medical Assistant documents as required by department, maintains established departmental policies and procedures, safety, environmental and infection prevention standards and gives courteous care with respect to patient rights and privacy. The Clinic Medical Assistant will float to all hospital owned clinics as needed.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned. May be expected to work varying hours, holidays, and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- Certification preferred, but not required.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATION:
- BLS- Obtains RQI BLS certification within appropriate quarter (approximately within 3 months of hire), maintains quarterly RQI requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
- Medical Assistant experience, but not preferred.
