Role Overview

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the automation pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring systems, and operational frameworks that power the NEO EHR platform. This role requires expertise in AWS services, CI/CD, containerization, and healthcare security compliance. The engineer will collaborate closely with architects, developers, and compliance teams to ensure smooth, secure, and reliable deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Deploy and manage ECS/Fargate clusters, serverless functions, PostgreSQL, RDS/DynamoDB databases, and networking resources.
  • Optimize infrastructure for cost efficiency, scalability, and high availability.
  • CI/CD & Release Engineering
  • Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) for seamless deployments.
  • Implement automated testing, security scanning, and compliance checks in pipelines.
  • Enable rapid, safe delivery of code while maintaining healthcare compliance standards.
  • Security & Compliance
  • Embed HIPAA/HITRUST security controls in infrastructure, logging, and monitoring.
  • Implement encryption (KMS), IAM policies, audit trails, and secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault).
  • Support security teams with regular audits, patching, and compliance reporting.
  • Monitoring & Reliability
  • Design and maintain observability stack (CloudWatch, Datadog and others).
  • Implement alerting, tracing, and dashboards to maintain 99.99% uptime SLAs.
  • Support disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity strategies with automated failover.
  • Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with Senior AWS SaaS Architect on platform design and execution.
  • Mentor upcoming junior DevOps/engineering staff on best practices in automation and cloud operations.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex operational issues.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7 years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Operations.
  • AWS Expertise: Hands-on experience with EKS/ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS (MySQL), DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, WAF.
  • Automation: Strong experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or Chef/Puppet.

  • Containers & Orchestration: Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and service mesh (Istio/Linkerd).

  • Database Operations: Experience managing and optimizing PostgreSQL and Dynamo DB in AWS.
  • Security Mindset: Familiarity with healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2) and embedding them in DevOps pipelines.
  • Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional

Why Join NEO Innovations?

  • Impact — Build technology that changes lives.

o  At NEO, you’re not just writing code or configuring cloud infrastructure — you’re designing platforms that directly improve how doctors, nurses, and wellness clinicians care for patients. Your work removes friction, gives clinicians their time back, and ultimately improves patient outcomes. What you build here literally helps people heal.

  • Innovation — Work with the newest tech, in a space that desperately needs disruption.

o  Healthcare is historically slow to innovate — NEO is not. We push boundaries using modern cloud architecture, building AI-powered automation, real-time data flows, and intelligent clinical tooling. We’re creating the future of digital healthcare: fast, intuitive, patient-powered, and always evolving. Every week brings new ideas, new features, and new challenges.

  • Growth — Shape the future AND grow your career.

o  NEO isn’t just another job — it’s an opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up. You’ll have ownership, autonomy, and a real voice in product direction.

o  As we scale, growth isn’t theoretical — it’s built into the business model. If you want a place where you can grow into leadership, build your portfolio, and leave your fingerprints on a product that reaches clinics and patients nationwide, you’re in the right place.

  • Mission-Driven — Healthcare needs better, and we’re building better.

o  Our mission is crystal clear:

o  Make healthcare simpler, faster, and radically patient-focused.

o  If you want your work to matter — not someday, but today — join a team where passion drives decisions, where ideas move into production fast, and where we measure success not by code deployed, but by lives improved.

  • We’re a startup that knows how to hustle and have fun! Join a team that celebrates your skills and shares a commitment to creating meaningful change together.
