Key Responsibilities
- Perform roll grinding and polishing operations according to documented procedures and customer specifications.
- Set up and operate grinding/polishing machinery, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
- Measure, inspect, and verify roll dimensions and tolerances using precision instruments.
- Maintain compliance with all quality standards, ensuring each roll is processed to specification.
- Document work performed, measurements, and any deviations or adjustments made.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and production teams to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions.
- Ensure machines and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Think creatively and proactively to improve processes, solve problems, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Recommended and preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years’ industrial facility experience.
- Computerized Manufacturing and Machining (CMM) Technology associate degree or 2–3 years of documented roll grinding experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Effective communication skills and customer‑service mindset.
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to problem‑solve and think creatively.
- Overhead crane experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds multiple times per day.
- Manual dexterity and ability to manage precision tools.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment with noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing/industrial setting.
- Exposure to moving machinery, grinding equipment, and material handling operations.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
Experience
Required- 2 - 3 years: Industrial facility experience
