JOB CLASSIFICATION:           Not Applicable – As Needed

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:

To implement all plans provided by the teacher. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferred for long term assignments.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Computer proficiency is preferred.
4. Ability to keep student information confidential is required.
5. Strong interpersonal relations and communications skills.
6. Strong behavior management and positive discipline skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for the daily management and operations of the assigned classroom in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
2. Reviews and implements all plans, duties, and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
3. Teaches the outlined lesson(s) as provided by the classroom teacher.
4. Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to the extent possible.
5. Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which classroom teachers are subject.
6. Communicates with the classroom teacher.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination.
2. Frequent walking, speaking, writing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, and turning.
3. Some lifting up to 30 lbs.
4. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

 ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

1. Occasional exposure to weather extremes.
2. Occasional exposure to loud noises.
