Assistant Chemist – Nemuru Labs
Pay: $23.75-$25.25/hour based on experience
Schedule: Full-time, with occasional weekend work

About the Role
Nemuru Labs is seeking a motivated Assistant Chemist to support our Lead Chemist in the production of high-quality cannabinoid products. This role is hands-on and essential to maintaining the precision, safety, and consistency required in our lab environment. You will assist in the synthesis of cannabinoids. We are looking for someone detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to grow into a more independent role over time.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations
- Assist the Lead Chemist with daily reaction setups
- Clean, maintain, and properly store laboratory glassware and equipment.
- Monitor reactions and communicate observations promptly and accurately.
- Perform sample prep and help operate analytical equipment such as HPLC.
- Operate and maintain a rotary evaporator for solvent removal.
- Assist with short path distillation processes as part of cannabinoid refinement.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain precise, GMP-standard records, including batch logs, reaction notes, and cleaning logs.
- Follow all internal SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Help ensure a clean, organized, and audit-ready laboratory environment.
Physical & Team Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Work on your feet for extended periods.
- Occasionally work weekends based on production needs.
- Follow direction from the Lead Chemist and collaborate effectively with team members.
Qualifications
Required (must meet one of the following):
- Bachelor’s degree in a natural science, chemistry, or a closely related field.
OR
- 3 years of hands-on experience working in a research, processing, or analytical laboratory.
Additionally Required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Willingness to learn cannabinoid chemistry and lab operations.
- High personal reliability and strong work ethic.
Preferred
- Previous experience with HPLC or other analytical instruments.
- Experience maintaining lab notebooks or GMP-style documentation.
- Familiarity with rotary evaporators or distillation equipment.
