Nemours is seeking a Manager, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, Solid Organ Transplant to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.

The Manager, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in the Department of Surgery, Division of Solid Organ Transplant, provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for a team of Advanced Practice Providers and/or Specialty Registered Nurses within the specialized area of solid organ transplant care. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership skills including the ability to prepare, support, and guide a team through organizational change. Strong written communication and spoken interpersonal skills required. Previous experiences with change management and programmatic growth strongly preferred.

 

This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient- and family-centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings and supports the transplant program's mission by maintaining compliance with CMS and OPTN/UNOS requirements, ensuring regulatory readiness, overseeing program operations and workforce management, promoting patient safety, and advancing quality and performance outcomes.

 

The Manager is also responsible for the following:

 

1.         Serves as a clinical expert, resource, role model, and leader for the multidisciplinary patient care team.

2.         Plans, allocates, and effectively utilizes human, financial, and material resources to support departmental and programmatic goals through key performance indicator measurement.

3.         Mentors, develops, and evaluates staff to foster professional growth, promote clinical excellence, ensure operational alignment, and enhance workforce engagement.

4.         Leads and participates in departmental, organizational, and transplant-specific initiatives that promote continuous quality improvement, regulatory compliance, patient safety, operational excellence, and fiscal responsibility.

 

Essential Functions

1.         Practices collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide high quality health care to children.

2.         Acts as a change management leader.

3.         Performs appropriate assessment of patient/family upon referral/admission and appropriately documents history and physical exam data.

4.         Performs ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress and revision of interdisciplinary plan of care.

5.         May use prescriptive authority if appropriately credentialed to do so. Collaborates interprofessionally as needed. Identifies patient/family need for further resources and initiates appropriate referrals.

6.         Documents patient care and progress on patient's chart.

7.         Provides patient/family teaching based on identification of learning needs.

8.         Acts as a patient's advocate.

9.         Acts as a role model to other members of the Patient Care Services Department to foster professional development.

10.       Acts as a liaison between families and members of the health care team.

 

Requirements

  • Active Delaware Advanced Practice Nurse Licensure, with prescriptive authority required; OR Active Delaware Physician Assistant License
  • Delaware Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
  • Federal DEA registration with Delaware Address
  • Current certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification required.
  • Additional active licensure and credentialing to support telehealth visits required within 6 months: PA, NJ, MD, FL.
  • Three to five years of experience required.
  • Prior experience with change management leadership preferred.
  • Prior management experience strongly preferred.
