Activities Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and caring Activities Assistant to join our team at Nemasket Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Middleborough, MA. As a vital member of our activity team, you will play a key role in planning, organizing, and directing quality activities for our patients, ensuring their recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs are met.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Activities in planning, developing, and directing quality activities for patients
Implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
Perform proficiently in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
Maintain professional working relationships with all employees, vendors, etc.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
Essential Functions:
Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs
Chart patient progress and behavior accurately and descriptively
Escort patients to and from activities
Make regular in-room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities
Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
Assist in the evacuation of patients
Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Requirements:
Prior experience with geriatrics preferred
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
Must perform proficiently in all competency areas
