Nemaha County Community Health Services (NCCHS)
Nemaha County Community Health Services is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our staff. Duties include administering immunizations, conducting children’s health assessments, public health education, providing services in accordance of the Vaccines for Children’s Program and other related nursing activities. Applicant must enjoy working with children and families, be detail oriented and highly motivated. Position is part time. No weekends or major holidays. Position is in our Sabetha and Seneca Office; reliable transportation required. Competitive salary and family friendly environment.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Organize immunization requirements in accordance of ACIP guidelines and follow Vaccine for Children’s (VFC) and Kansas Department of Health and Environment policies for use of vaccine.
- Back-up contact for the VFC Program.
- Be familiar and able to educate on current vaccine policy and procedure.
- Keep up to date on vaccine recommendations and new vaccine information.
- Conduct inventory count of vaccines monthly.
- Provide recommendation of private vaccine purchase to the agency’s administrator and purchase public vaccine through the VFC program.
- Complete end of month reconciliation.
- Maintains nursing supplies inventory and provide detailed list to the agency’s administrator.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Maintain confidential patient and office records.
- Conduct Kan-Be-Healthy and children’s health assessments and interpret health screening finding to the client and family and make appropriate referrals.
- Review patient charts, determine appropriate recommendations and provide education and referrals to patients and families.
- Administer immunizations.
- Travel to local community partners for off-site clinics.
- Assist in coordination for off-site influenza vaccine clinics.
- Participate in required staff meetings, webinars and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Hours:
- This position is part time, 3-4 days per week 8:30am-4:30pm
Experience/Education:
- Kansas Registered Nurse, required
- 2-3 years nursing experience preferred, but willing to train
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledgeable in immunization requirements, preferred
