Position Summary
Nemadji Golf Course is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Assistant Golf Shop Manager to support the daily operation of the golf shop. This position serves as a key holder and is primarily responsible for opening and closing the golf shop, ensuring smooth daily operations, and assisting the Golf Shop Manager with staff supervision, customer service, merchandising, tournaments, and administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong attention to detail, and can confidently lead daily operations when the Golf Shop Manager is not present.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Golf Shop Operations
* Open and close the golf shop according to established procedures.
* Prepare daily registers, POS systems, and opening reports.
* Reconcile cash drawers and complete end-of-day closing procedures.
* Ensure the golf shop and surrounding guest areas are clean, organized, and ready for daily operation.
* Maintain security of the golf shop and facility during opening and closing shifts.
Customer Service
* Provide exceptional service to pass holders, members, and guests.
* Assist customers with tee times, merchandise purchases, golf fees, and facility information.
* Handle customer concerns and inquiries in a professional and positive manner.
* Answer phones and assist with reservations, event inquiries, and general information.
### Leadership & Team Support
* Serve as the lead golf shop employee during assigned shifts.
* Assist with training and mentoring golf shop attendants.
* Support daily communication between golf shop staff, starters, rangers, outside services, and management.
* Help ensure customer service standards and operational procedures are consistently followed.
Merchandising & Inventory
* Assist with merchandise displays, restocking, and inventory management.
* Receive and organize incoming inventory shipments.
* Help maintain attractive, clean, and fully stocked retail displays.
* Assist with physical inventory counts and inventory control procedures.
Tournament & Administrative Support
* Assist with tournament and outing preparation.
* Help organize scorecards, cart signs, pairings, and event materials.
* Support league operations and special events as needed.
* Assist the Golf Shop Manager with reports, data entry, and other administrative responsibilities.
Additional Responsibilities
* Support driving range operations as needed.
* Monitor pace of play and assist with guest experience initiatives.
* Perform additional duties assigned by the Golf Shop Manager or Director of Golf.
Preferred Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Previous golf course, retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.
* Golf knowledge preferred but not required.

* Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
* Comfortable handling cash and operating point-of-sale systems.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

Compensation
$19-21 per hour depending on experience.
