Nelson University seeks a highly qualified adjunct faculty member with a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program to begin teaching in Fall 2027. This position is within the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Community Services.
The successful candidate will teach assigned graduate counseling courses in a fully online format and contribute to the continued strength of the counseling curriculum.

Compensation is determined according to established distance education pay scales and is based on credentials and teaching assignments.

Primary Responsibilities
- Teach assigned counseling and counselor education courses beginning Fall 2027.
- Deliver instruction aligned with CACREP standards where applicable.
- Integrate Christian faith and professional counseling identity in course engagement.
- Facilitate applied learning, case analysis, and professional skill development.
- Provide timely, substantive feedback to students.
- Submit required course documentation and assessment materials.
Education
- Preferred:
- State licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience in a college or university setting
- Required:
- Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education & Supervision
- Graduate of a CACREP-accredited program
- ABD candidates with a clear timeline toward completion of the terminal degree may be considered.
- Documented professional counseling/clinical experience.
- Experience teaching in an online format preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to collaboration and program development.
- Personal faith consistent with Nelson University’s evangelical Christian mission.
- Active participation in a local church community; Assemblies of God affiliation preferred.

- Copies of transcripts from all higher education institutions attended.
- A 3 to 5-page graduate-level writing sample.
- A written philosophy of Christian higher education.
- Two letters of reference, including one pastoral reference, if available.
- Completion of the Faculty Application Survey on Faith and Mission Alignment.
