What You’ll Do

As a Senior Structural Engineer, partnering directly with architects, owners, contractors, and internal disciplines, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and well‑coordinated building structures. You’ll design and analyze structural systems - across concrete, steel, masonry, and wood - for projects ranging from small renovations to large, complex facilities, ensuring they meet code requirements, performance expectations, and client needs.

Lead Structural Engineering & Project Delivery

  • Serve as the structural lead and/or project manager to ensure design criteria, budgets, and schedules meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, construction documents, bid packages, technical reports, and conduct proactive review of shop drawings and RFIs.
  • Verify project documentation and close‑out tasks follow company standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by refining technical standards, best practices, and design processes.

Manage Projects & Client Relationships

  • Manage multiple concurrent, larger-scope, and often complex projects with a focus on quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, staffing needs, deliverables, and ongoing project status.
  • Provide clear, practical engineering recommendations to clients and maintain strong relationships through responsive communication and leadership.
  • Engage in business development - supporting marketing efforts, maintaining regular contact with key clients and contributing to proposals.

Coordinate Across Disciplines

  • Partner closely with architects, owners, contractors, and internal engineering disciplines to ensure aligned scope, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Participate in project meetings and represent structural engineering requirements with clarity and confidence.
  • Support construction administration through timely communication and sound engineering judgment.

Mentor & Lead

  • Mentor junior team members, support knowledge sharing, and help strengthen overall team capability.
  • Represent the company professionally with clients, industry partners, and key associations.
  • Step in where needed to support firmwide initiatives and ensure exceptional project delivery.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (with structural emphasis) or related discipline required.
  • 10 years’ experience working in structural engineering of buildings. Candidates must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or hold an EIT or Engineering Intern (EI) certification. PE license is preferred.
  • Experienced in the design and analysis of complex structures with a solid understanding and application of structural engineering principles, practices and concepts.
  • Ability to navigate and apply national, state and local codes along with American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) standards to overall project and individual material designs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD. Working knowledge of MicroStation, Smartsheet, Unanet CRM by Cosential and Deltek Ajera software is a plus.
  • Proven personnel management skills, leadership qualities and effective mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to professional growth (EIT/EI candidates expected to pursue PE licensure).
  • U.S. citizenship or valid Green Card.
