Are you an experienced Administrative Assistant ready to contribute to a high-performing legal team? The Columbia, SC office of Nelson Mullins is looking for a dedicated professional to support our attorneys with top-tier administrative assistance in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
A Day in the Life
This role is critical to the success of our legal operations. You will provide comprehensive administrative support, including managing attorney calendars, preparing and revising legal documents, redlining, formatting, and ensuring all documentation is thoroughly proofread and accurate. Additional responsibilities include filing, billing, basic bookkeeping, document management, mail processing, scanning, and accurate time and data entry. You’ll also be responsible for opening new client matters, running conflict checks, establishing billing arrangements, organizing client correspondence, and supporting transactional matters.
A key part of this role involves corporate legal support. You’ll compile and maintain Corporate LLC record books, prepare documentation for Secretary of State filings, and coordinate with regulatory agencies, as necessary. You will be expected to handle these processes efficiently and with attention to detail.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent follow-up skills, who thrives on staying organized, prioritizing tasks, and taking initiative. You should bring at least 3–5 years of recent administrative experience within a law firm setting, with a high level of professionalism and comfort supporting multiple attorneys. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel are essential for this position, and a solid understanding of legal administrative workflows are essential. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment are key to success in this position.
