Description

Under regular supervision of shift supervisor, you will attend to injection molding machines or assembly workstations for repetitive production of a variety of plastic parts and components.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Follows companywide safety policies and procedures.
  • Receives assignments from shift supervisor and accomplishes tasks in accordance with all documented procedures and instructions.
  • Ensures Quality through regular inspection of production before packaging. Uses supplied gauges, fixtures, and measuring tools to verify dimensions. Notifies the quality inspector when product has been found to be suspect.
  • Maximizes work cell uptime and production output whether attending to automatic machine, operator attended machine, or assembly station.
  • Evaluates machine performance and condition periodically and refers all unusual or unsafe conditions to supervisor. Items to be evaluated include obvious part defects, incorrect number of parts being produced, machine damage or malfunction, etc.
  • Verifies counting scale is counting correctly periodically during shift and advises QC Inspector or Supervisor of issues.
  • Sorts, counts, packs and performs secondary operations as required. Trims and assembles components using automatic and manual equipment.
  • Submits all production reporting forms to shift supervisor or designee as required. Accounts for all good production and scrap produced on assigned workstations.
  • Keeps entire assigned work area clean and orderly at all times.
  • When directed, may collect last shot when work order/job has been completed.
  • Works to continuously improve skills and capabilities in operations. Effectively and actively participates in group problems solving and improvement activities.
  • May provide training to other personnel on company procedures or specific job requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and or one to three months molding or manufacturing experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to comprehend and comply with written and verbal procedures, instructions and assignments. Ability to deal with situations involving several variables in standard manufacturing conditions. Ability to actively participate in group problem solving activities.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use ratios and percent.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee frequently must use normal light assembly equipment such as drill presses, cutters, ultrasonic assembly machines, etc. in automatic, semi-automatic and manual modes. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and or move up to 25lbs., and occasionally lift and or move up to 55 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works with moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot, humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Uses all required safety devices and procedures without exception.

Compensation And Benefits

Pay Range: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour (Pay to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data)
