What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paint Technician **NIGHT SHIFT position at Nelson Manufacturing Company?
The 3rd shift Paint Technician applicant will need to be trained on Shift A. The time frame that the applicant is trained on day shift will vary depending on skill level and knowledge. (Estimated 5-10 days on Shift A.) The applicant will then transfer to Shift B.
Shift B receives an ADDITIONAL $1.50 /hr on top of the starting wage as the shift premium.
Shift A: (45-hour schedule below.)
Monday – Friday| 6:30 am – 4:00 pm
Paid 20 minute morning break | Unpaid 30 minute lunch break
Shift B: (45-hour schedule below.)
Sunday – Thursday | 9:30 pm – 6:30 am
30 minutes of paid breaks
Responsibilities:
- Perform construction painting tasks, including surface preparation and application of paint
- Operate equipment as needed for painting and construction projects
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary
- Assist with warehouse operations, including inventory management and material handling
- Utilize airless paint spraying techniques to achieve high-quality finishes
- Assemble and disassemble equipment and structures as needed
- Apply basic math skills to measure and calculate material quantities
Skills:
- Proficiency in manufacturing painting techniques, including surface preparation, paint application, and color matching
- Experience operating power tools, miscellaneous hand tools, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Mechanical knowledge to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity and reduce waste
- Warehouse experience, including inventory management and material handling procedures
- Ability to operate airless paint spraying equipment for efficient and high-quality paint application
- Strong assembly skills for the construction of equipment and structures
- Basic math skills to accurately measure materials and calculate quantities
- Knowledge of painting techniques is a plus
