Substitute Teachers
Nelson Mandela Early Childhood Development Center is a year-round program that provides educational experiences to children ages 3 to 5 years old. You will be an active participant in creating a high-quality learning environment for young children and their families.
We are looking for candidates that are passionate about the growth and development of our youngest learners. We are most interested in talking to applicants that have:
- Coursework or a degree in early childhood education or child development or a CDA
- A year or more experience working in a licensed childcare facility
- Impeccable references and a proven track record of caring and nurturing children to provide them with a great start to their educational careers
Teaching Responsibilities
- Provide opportunities for children to develop positive self-images and experience success.
- Work with co-workers to develop creative hands-on activities and project-based experiences captured by your observations of childrens interests and skills.
- Assist with developmentally appropriate lessons, consistent with our curriculum, to support cognitive and language development.
- Maintain a clean, safe and healthy classroom environment.
- Ability to sit, stoop, and bend to interact on a child's level, lift up to 50 lbs., and stand up to 90% of the day
