Description Nelson Intelligence Solutions is seeking a qualified Database Engineer to work onsite in Little Rock, Arkansas. In this position, you will partner with customers on enterprise database design and implementation strategies while applying Esri technology best practices. You will consult with customers to understand business and technical requirements, design enterprise data management strategies, and implement those strategies throughout the engagement life cycle. You will work both independently and as part of project teams to configure back-end geospatial database management capabilities that support customer workflows utilizing ArcGIS web, desktop, and mobile applications.

Primary Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure database solutions to support mission-critical applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during all phases of implementation including requirements, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deployment
- Configure and maintain database environments, including backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies
- Monitor and tune database performance using industry-standard tools and methodologies (such as query optimization, indexing strategies)
- Implement data security measures, access controls, and compliance standards across environments
- Automate routine database loading, maintenance, and monitoring tasks to improve efficiency
- Provide technical guidance and best practices for database design, migration, and integration projects
- US citizen
- 8 years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA
- Demonstrated experience with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance, and security
- Scripting skills in SQL and Python for automation and data workflows
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
- Understanding of geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers
- US citizenship with Active or Current (within 2 years of active) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or related STEM field
